An NPT connection depends on a specific thread taper to produce a seal as you tighten. A fitting body that is off on taper angle will never seal correctly in an existing port. Our fitting bodies are machined to ASME B1.20.1 tolerances for all NPT connections. Tube-end body threads match Swagelok® instrumentation specs so they install in the same ports at the same torque. Heat Code Stamped 316 SS Stops Galvanic Corrosion Where the Ferrule Bites
Galvanic corrosion is a materials problem, not a maintenance problem. It starts the moment two different alloys make electrical contact in a wet or corrosive environment. At a compression fitting, the highest-risk point is exactly where the ferrule contacts the tube wall under permanent cold-work stress. Carbon steel ferrules against stainless tubing in a chloride environment will corrode right there, below the nut, completely out of sight.
Our ferrule sets and fitting bodies are both 316 stainless steel. A heat code is stamped on every fitting body and traceable to the original billet at the mill.
